Welcome to the IMBRAIN & ISBAP 2026 Congress – Málaga, to be held from 16 to 18 April 2026 at the University of Málaga.
The International Society for Bioactive Peptides (ISBAP) brings together researchers and clinicians who study bioactive peptides and their receptors as key modulators of physiology and as emerging targets for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. In this edition, organised jointly with the Imbrain Chair, we aim to offer a scientific programme of the highest standard, while also being highly participatory and strongly oriented towards translational research.
The preliminary programme is structured around thematic symposia with invited speakers, alongside substantial opportunities for community engagement through selected oral communications and poster sessions. The main thematic areas include:
- Bioactive peptides in the central nervous system (circuits, plasticity and neurogenesis).
- Intranasal administration and other non-invasive delivery routes.
- Neuroendocrinology and metabolism.
- Peptides as biomarkers.
- Bioactive peptides in health and disease.
In addition, the congress will feature dedicated networking opportunities (coffee breaks, cocktail receptions and a welcome reception), the ISBAP General Assembly, and the Viktor Mutt Award Lectureship (Dr Annette G. Beck-Sickinger), which will represent key highlights of the meeting.
Málaga is an open, well-connected city and offers an ideal setting in which to combine scientific excellence with a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. It will be our pleasure to welcome you and to share three days of discussion, collaboration and new ideas focused on bioactive peptides.
Yours sincerely,
Manuel Narváez Peláez
